The MILES Group is dedicated to providing comprehensive education and support to young individuals on substance use. Our mission is to empower and equip youth with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to make informed decisions, navigate challenges, and lead healthy, and aware lives.
Through evidence-based programs and initiatives, our organization aims to create a safe and inclusive environment where young people can openly discuss and address the complexities of substance use. We strive to engage as we promote resilience, positive coping strategies, and personal growth while fostering a sense of community and peer support.
Our mission is grounded in the belief that prevention is the key to reducing substance use among youth. By raising awareness about the risks, dangers, and consequences associated with substance use, we aim to empower young individuals to make choices that prioritize their physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
Furthermore, we recognize the importance of addressing the underlying factors that contribute to substance use, such as societal pressures, mental health challenges, and environmental influences. Through collaboration with community partners, schools, and families, we work towards creating a comprehensive support network that enables youth to overcome obstacles and make positive life choices.
Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our dedication to using the recently developed curriculum, Safety First, as well as resources provided by the DEA and their One Pill Can Kill campaign. Through collaboration with yoga/mindfulness instructors, art therapists and community leaders, we work with the needs of each individual group to develop the best learning environment. Through group activity practices and ongoing evaluation of our programs, we continuously strive to improve the effectiveness of our educational initiatives, ensuring that they remain relevant, impactful, and responsive to the evolving needs of young individuals.
Overall, The MILES Group is driven by a passion for empowering youth and fostering a culture of prevention and support. By engaging young individuals in group activities to build the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to navigate the complexities of substance use, we are supporting a healthier and safer future.Â
